GIS professionals know that it's important for jurisdictions to have clear geographical boundaries to delineate areas of responsibility. At a practical level, how are these boundaries resolved when the lines are fuzzy? This presentation will go over the importance of boundaries to the public safety industry, and delve into a case study involving two Washington State counties and Oregon. GIS professionals will learn what factors must be considered in resolving boundary lines, who must be involved and in what order, and how we can enable and prepare our public safety partners in establishing clear and accurate boundaries.
