Join me as we explore new ways of using and managing your GIS data . This lecture-based workshop will examine how we can use SQL queries to explore and manage relational database management system (RDBMS) data.
We will explore the GIS data, using SQL statements that take advantage of wealth of GIS attributes and also the spatial relationships in your data. We will look at how to write SQL query statements using ST_Geometry to apply spatial analysis tools such as buffer, intersect and union.
We will expand your understanding of the geodatabase, what makes it unique and how we can use information stored in the system tables. We will dig into the relationship between system tables and feature classes and how to tie the two together to leverage all the information. We will also understand discovery functions and understand the situations where we can edit the GIS data through SQL.
